Support for Siblings

Siblings share a unique bond which, if properly nurtured, can last a lifetime. If you have a brother or sister with a disability you may have questions about the role you can play in their life, or you may want someone from outside the family to share your experiences with.

  • SibSupport N.Z. is a course run by Parent2Parent which assists the siblings of people with disabilities or special needs to cope with the challenges of living with a brother or sister who has a disability. They run day and weekend programmes supported by a social networking site for anyone who has been on the course.
  • Sensational Siblings is an Auckland based support group who meet twice a month and offer peer support and information services through workshops, forums and interactive youth groups.
